Judging a Diamond's WorthWhat makes one diamond of better quality than another? Why are two diamonds of the same size not sold for the same price? These are questions many people have when buying a diamond for the first time. At Diamond Design, our people are specifically trained to show you the differences between diamonds. Basically it all comes down to a system we call the Four Cs: § Carats (weight) § Clarity (internal blemishes, or "inclusions") § Colour (amount of white or yellow in the stone) § Cut (sparkle, brilliance, and lustre) The value of any diamond is related to its quality. And the quality of a diamond is determined by examining it for the Four Cs. Is one "C" more important than the others? How are the Four Cs measured and emphasized? The answers to these questions are discussed on the following screens. |
